I have had no satisfaction regarding the ongoing problem of a neighbor smoking marijuana on their balcony. One of the reasons I chose the apartment I did was the balcony. Now as we approach nice weather, I have to continue closing my windows and surely won't be able to enjoy evenings on the patio since I don't like the smell. This has gone one for well over a month since I first notified management. After my first complaint, Allison reminded tenants of the no smoking policy and proposed that in future I should notify "Emergency responders." Seriously. I thanked her for her action and told her why I wasn't going to use Emergency Responders who could do nothing about a B misdemeanor without a search warrant. And I reminded her this violates the lease and management had the only authority to resolve this. Since then, I sent more emails about the ongoing issue. Last week, I tried to call her. She emailed me back to ask how she could help. I explained and let her know that I had sent/made further interim complaints with no reponse. It's now Tuesday and not even an acknowledgement that she received my email. I have also spoken with the part-time employee manning the desk who has always said she was also notifying Allison. So, at this point, I'm looking at considering the battle to terminate my lease based on the fact that a common nuisance is continuing to interfere with my quiet enjoyment of the premises for which I pay a monthly rent.
